A Life Conditional 1/2

by Joel Limberg   »

This post is the first of two parts, a special task for Paavo. See part 2.

If people knew what was going to happen in the very end, there would be chaos of unimaginable magnitude.

If only we, small meat-made creatures had an idea about the bigger picture, the greater plan, the alpha and the omega, death would rule our blue excuse for a planet.

Given that life had a meaning ? and if that meaning was not something useless, in which case all would be lost ? everyone and anyone could too take have their small part in the global party that, if more would know of it, would be huge ? even the smaller and less meaningful creatures, I would have not forgotten what this sentence was originally intended to be about.

If God were alive today (he has been for over two millennia), he could shake his head and snip the third rock from the sun into orbit around Zeus? left testicle for all he cared, or not cared.

Given though that he is not, if he had such powers, what sense makes it then to attempt understanding such a powerful being?

If monks knew of the reaches of God, would they still claim to live in celibacy? And if monks lived in celibacy, would they still claim to do so? Thirdly, if monks claimed to live in celibacy and claim to do so, would that not violate their own rules?

Provided that monks claim to live in celibacy, but do not in fact do so, would God?s wrath fall upon them? Or, would the Old Man have already done something millenia ago, provided he actually exists.

If God was so important, why aren?t all believers put into deep weltschmerz after years of unsuccessfully searching?
