Web design example - Thoughtblog

Our Story in 19 Thoughts

elevantstudios.com/thoughts

A community blog featuring 6 authors. 19 thoughts is what the group managed before the task ended. The interesting part is the navigation and clustering of blog entries - not to mention the back-end designed specifically to handle the innovative end user interface.

Web design example - online project management system

TIKõpe

Not accessible for unregistered users - sorry!

This is an award-winning online learning management system that includes bookshelves, wikis, groups and plenty of other features for users to collaborate. Already battle-tested, this is something that we plan to develop further and turn into a widely distributable online project management system.

Web design example - Bar Italia

Bar Italia

www.baritalialiverpool.com

Bar Italia is a wonderful restaurant in the heart of Liverpool. The website for this restaurant reflects the very Italian essence of the establishment. The overall atmosphere is friendly and inviting, the site includes galleries and downloadables. Co-designed with Jaak Kaevats.

Web design example - car rental

Carrental24

www.carrental24.ee (not yet online)

This site, although otherwise rather ordinary, is featured here because the brief was to make the front page look as visually rich as possible - in this case that meant invoking the passionate driver in the end user through creative use of photography and animation. The final site should be fully functional and online later this autumn.

Web design example - Tallinn University of Technology

TUT School of Technology

tehnoloogiakool.ttu.ee

TUT stands for Tallinn University of Technology, one of the top universities in the Baltic States. Their "School of Technology" courses are akin to those one would normally find at an open university. This website desperately needed a redesign to spark interest and invite students to explore the seemingly dull world of technology. (Yes, we were successful!)

Web design example - ISIC

ISIC Estonia

www.isic.ee

ISIC cards are globally well-known. In Estonia, however, this strong brand can only be traced to a certain bank. To remedy that, the body actually responsible for all ISIC cards ordered a full redesign of their online systems: four cards meant four separate yet similar designs. (Note: the flash intro is not my doing.)

TUT New Students' Application Environment

vastuvott.ttu.ee

Although let down by the content management system and the people who run it now, this website was a pleasure to design and code. The project included plenty of research, interviewing potential students and some user testing. Completed just in time for the 2006 student rush, the system gave TUT an edge over other institutions and quickly received very positive feedback.
